Beyond Scared Straight: Are They Really

I saw this show advertised and thought "hmmm, sounds like something I might want to watch", after all I am in the criminal law field as a paralegal, and it would be beneficial to be informed to I can explain to some our minor clients the perils awaiting them if they continue on their destructive, career-criminal paths.

Well, I watched it, and all I can say is "does anyone really think this is going to help the kids?" They come in there with a cocky attitude, laughing, continuing to lie, and don't take this experience seriously at all. Some of these kids do take it seriously, but for the most part I don't see it sinking into most of them. And at the end of the day they don't give you an update on all the kids. Misleading? Just sayin'.

The reality here is that if it helps just one kid, all the better.

FYI, here in Orange County, California, instead of making the kids go through the jail, they make the parents go. I know...been there, done that. And, it didn't help my kid one bit, probably because he wasn't the one that went through the jail.

Bottom line: Parents need to quit enabling their kids, stop being friends, and act like parents.

Joan & Melissa

OK, I know I said I didn't think this show was gonna last because the first episode was "Bore-ing" (heavy on the "G"), but last night may have proved me wrong.

I love Joan Rivers.  Yes I do.  What a fun Mom, lady, comedian, and business woman.  A little bit of a pushy Yidish-a-ma-ma-la, but her heart appears to be in the right place.  You just have to love a Mom who is pushing for her daughter to be on the cover of "Mom's Go Wild", producers of "Girls Gone Wild", etc.  Talk about "open-minded".

I laughed myself silly during the bathroom scene when Joan sneaks in a takes a photo, and later walking down the stairs when she is so proud she got the photo.  And there was lots of funny dialogue from Joan which really wasn't in the first episode.   You didn't miss much in the first episode as all she did was pack, move and look high and low for Edgar's (Joan's husband) ashes.  Turns out Joan was holding out.  There were also two other ashes floating around the house, one of which she could not remember who they belonged to.  Ech!

As a mom, I really loved Melissa's decision, (despite the money she would have received), to not do "Mom's Gone Wild" because of  the price tag that it would have cost her in the long run.  You're a good Mom Melissa.  If you're keeping track it's Melissa 2, Joan 0, if you add the furniture scene.  Don't even take me there.

Finally, some funny dialogue, mostly from Joan.  And at times you're not sure who the Mom really is.  Is it Joan, or is it Melissa.  I am not sure.  But I guess I will keep watching to find out.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season Finale

Well if Part I of the Season Finale didn't get you pausing the TV to run to the kitchen for a bag of popcorn, with all the cat fights, arguments, and constant attacks on Kyle, then Part II was sure to send you.

Well last night's season finale Part 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was probably one of the biggest tear-jerkers in the Housewive's moments. There were more tears flowing than Niagara Falls. I thought even Bravo's Andy was going to cry. Pass the Kleenex and get Makeup in here. And there were more apologies flying around than Delta has flights.

Bravo asked it's viewers who they thought was the biggest villain of the night. Raise your hands if you say "Cedric", who is the want-to-be 7th housewife. See http://www.usmagazine.com/moviestvmusic/news/real-housewife-lisa-how-cedric-absolutely-betrayed-us-201122  for more. Even Camille and Kyle put their differences aside for the evening.

Well ladies, all I can say is "well done." And I am looking forward to next season. It will be interesting to see who stays and who leaves.

Stay tuned.

Watch What Happens, Bravo Andy

What can I say that hasn't already been said.  Great program.  Love Andy.  Always great guests.  Loved the show tonight.  Kim looked amazing, the kids were adorable as usual, and of course Kroy.  Hunk.

Still waiting for Kim to tweet Kroy's butt measurements to Andy.  Tic-toc, tic-toc.

And can you believe it?  Yes you can!  NeNe took this opportunity to tweet in an unnecessary comment.  Poor NeNe.  Doesn't she have enough on her plate?  Be real and get a life.

Speaking of NeNe, we heard she wants to come to LA.  Please girl, stay in Atlanta.  LA is not ready for you.

Real Housewives of Atlanta

I'm loving it.  Season finale.

Who knew Phaedra would actually cry when leaving the baby.  That was very unexpected.  But what was expected was crazy NeNe's typically nasty remarks towards Kim, and everyone else for that matter.  Must be nice to be so perfect in the NeNe World.

I Guess NeNe's still not over the whole getting kicked out of doing "Tardy For The Party" thing.  Listen crazy NeNe:  Kim may not be the best singer, but she's still crying all the way to the bank.  You're just crying.

Now if Kim can't sing, then Sheree surely can't act.  Maybe some more acting classes, or some personal  one-on-one coaching, not that that helped Kim.  Stick to what you know.  What was that again?

The sad part of the whole finale is Cythia's wedding.  She has had to scrape together every dime, and now she's borrowing money from Mom to put this wedding together.  What's even worse is it's being done in front of millions of viewers.  All I can say is "Run Cythia, Run".  Cut your losses girl and call it a day.  But she didn't.

This is clearly a woman who is not happy now, single and broke, and she surely is not going to be happy later, married and broke.  Call me a psychic.  We will see next season if these two are still broke and in love.

Looking forward to the new season of RHOOC. Stay tuned

Joan & Melissa

Just caught the first show tonight and I have to say that a root canal is more exciting and less painful.

If you like watching people pack, move, and dig through the house looking for the ashes of their loved ones then this is the show for you.  So far, not impressed.

And really.  What mother in her right mind would let her nanny run around in front of her son without a top on?  Are you kidding me.  Someone's using this show to her advantage.

Stay tuned.
